Vehicle Description The Ford Galaxie is a full-sized car that was built in the U.
S.
introduced as a 1959 model and continued through 1974.
It was redesigned in 1960 with less ornamentation and thinner roof panels with more slope that were adorned with star emblems which served as the Galaxie signature badge for all 60 - 62 models.
In 1961 the sheet metal was revised for a cleaner look eliminating the scallops on the hood, the tailfins were downsized significantly and two giant circular taillights were added to each rear corner glowing like afterburners on a jet plane.
Ford was definitely going with the space and science-fiction theme and with successful results as this style of Galaxie is widely regarded as a classic.
This particular example is a 3 owner vehicle with 45,116 original miles.
It was optioned in Desert Gold with a Black and White interior.
The original 292ci Y-Block V8 engine is mated to a Cruise-O-Matic transmission and the rear end is fitted with 3.
00:
1 gears making it a pleasure to cruise the open road.
With the exception of the Retro Sound B/T stereo and the normal maintenance items this car is 100% original.
There are a couple of spots that have had paint work but the car has not been repainted.
The original interior is in amazing shape, especially for its age.
Mechanically it is in excellent condition.
It was recently serviced at which time the brakes were gone through, the carb and radiator were both rebuilt and the exhaust was replaced.
Everything works as it should, the engine starts right up every time and she is an absolute pleasure to drive.
We would conservatively appraise this vehicle at $26,400.
This is part of an estate sale and has been priced to move quickly so if you like what you see we suggest reaching out before someone beats you to it!.
