Vehicle Description The introduction of the Mustang in 1964 created a new class of automobile known as the pony car.
The Mustang's styling with its long hood and short deck proved wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators.
Since it was introduced five months before the normal start of the production year, the earliest Mustangs are widely referred to as the 1964 model but were marked by Ford as a 1965.
Standard interior features included adjustable driver and passenger bucket seats and an AM radio.
This particular example was optioned with the 225hp 289ci A-Code V8, a C4 Cruise-O-Matic transmission, A/C, a center console, power steering, front disc brakes and the highly desired Knock-Off wheels.
It was completely restored in 1999 at which time the original engine was sent out to Motor Works Inc for a complete rebuild.
At the same time it was changed from its original color of Honey Gold to Rangoon Red which looks awesome with its black interior and Knock-Off wheels.
The current owner had some issues with the transmission shifting properly and the engine overheating so he had the transmission rebuilt and a new aluminum radiator installed just a few months ago.
Everything works properly including the A/C which blows ice cold.
The paint is starting to show a little wear and tear upon close inspection but looks awesome from 10 feet away.
It was recently serviced and is in need of nothing but a new home.
Based on its present condition and the current N.
