For Sale: 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix in STERLING, Illinois for sale in Sterling, IL

Vehicle Description The Grand Prix was introduced by Pontiac as a luxury performance automobile in 1962.
John DeLorean contributed to the development of this car which was the most expensive coupe Pontiac offered until the 1970s.
Completely restyled in 1965 the 2nd generation Grand Prix featured more rounded body lines with Coke bottle profiles and a longer wheelbase.
The 1967 model featured concealed headlights and windshield wipers as well ventless front windows, louvered taillights and Strato bucket seats.
This particular example was sold new in CA and was there until 1990 when the 2nd owner moved to IL with it.
The current owner acquired it in 1995 who we now represent on consignment.
Shortly after purchasing it he had the color changed from Montreux Blue to the Orange you currently see.
In 2019 the car was sent to Gearheads in Bloomington IL who did a complete mechanical restoration on it.
The original 400 seized and was replaced with a 455 from a 1973.
At the same time the transmission was upgraded to a 700R4.
Both the engine and transmission were completely rebuilt.
Also at this time the windshield was removed so that rust repairs could be made and it also received a new trunk pan.
The list of new parts is quite long and includes the windshield, rear bumper, complete fuel system including the tank, complete brake system including the master cylinder, a new wire harness, font end, bearings, springs and shocks.
The interior is original except for the gauges and the front seats which were replaced.
It has new rims, tires and dog dish center caps and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its new performance dual exhaust system.
Mechanically and electrically the car is better than new, as well over $30,000 was spent going through everything.
You can see the detailed repair order in the pix.
When the repairs were made the owner was planning to keep this car for his kids.
Circumstances have changed which is why this vehicle has become available for about half of what was invested in it just a few hundred miles ago.
If you like what you see we encourage you to reach out before it's too late!.
