Vehicle Description The Volkswagen Beetle (officially called the Volkswagen Type 1), informally known as the VW Bug, is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen since 1938.
With over 21 million manufactured the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform anywhere in the world.
1964 saw the introduction of a widened cover for the light over the rear license plate.
Towards the end of 1964, the height of the side windows and windscreen grew slightly, giving the cabin a less pinched look which coincided with the introduction of a slightly curved windshield.
This particular bug is a two family car.
The 2nd owner acquired it 34 years ago and willed it their son when they passed in 2014.
Since his acquisition he had a complete restoration done to it which included a color change to the beautiful blue you now see leaving no trace of its previous color.
At the same time the top was replaced, the interior was all replaced, the original 1200cc engine was rebuilt and the tranny and rear end were gone through as well.
The suspension, brakes and tires are all in excellent condition as are all of the belts and hoses.
It just received a new battery and voltage regulator and she runs great.
