Vehicle Description General Motors redesigned their tuck line for the 1947 model year making them larger, stronger and sleeker than its predecessor.
This generation was referred to as the Advance -Design series and was produced by Chevrolet until 1955.
This particular example was sold new in Arkansas and did not come to the Midwest until the 2nd owner purchased it in 1995.
It has never been driven in the winter and has been garaged since new.
The odometer currently shows 67,962 miles which is believed to be accurate.
It is equipped with a 260 ci straight 6 referred to as a 261 that is from 1955.
The 261 was introduced in 1954 as an optional engine upgrade for heavy-duty trucks.
The transmission was upgraded to a 5 speed manual from a 1988 ton Chevy that enables the engine to run effortlessly.
Besides the driveline, the chrome hubcaps, the Custom Autosound stereo, the fact that it was converted to a 12 volt system and that the battery was moved to the engine bay this truck is very original and rust free.
The driveline was rebuilt before it was installed in the early 2000's and less than 2,000 miles have been put on it since.
Within the last 2 years all of the gauges were rebuilt and all work as they should.
When the current owner purchased it in 1995 it had recently been repainted.
The paint has held up well but is starting to show its age.
The wood used for the floor of the bed and the rails is solid oak and still shows like new.
The truck has a new Custom Autosound stereo, a new battery, newer tires and it was recently serviced.
You can jump in it right now and drive it all day without any concern.
Based on this truck's present condition we would classify it as a very strong #3 vehicle and as such would appraise it at the current N.
